Yesterday St. Michael’s celebrated National Poetry Day. The theme this year was ‘counting.’ Primary 1-3 focused on counting rhymes. Primary 1 explored the counting rhyme of ‘1, 2, 3,4, 5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive’ and connected this rhyme into their numeracy work. Primary 2 and 3 were extremely creative and changed the words to ‘One two Buckle my Shoe’ and presented us with an alternative rhyme. Primary 4-7 explored different poem types and explored the theme through ‘counting and relying on each other’.
