Practical Numeracy: - Show your child a number between 1-10. Get your child to find the said amount of dolls, lego pieces to match the number.
Practical Literacy - Continue to play matching games using their keywords. Encourage your child to write out 5 of their keywords.
Written Literacy - Get your child to draw a picture about an activity that they have completed over the last two days. Your child scribes a sentence about their picture which the parent is to write in a light coloured marker. Get your child to trace the sentence then copy underneath.
Reading - Write out a few simple sentences using keywords and cvc words and encourage your child to read them. For example: I can hop, I got a pop, I have a cat, A cat sat on a mat.
If you are trying to work from home whilst watching your child, a colouring page will still offer great opportunities to improve fine motor skills. Allowing your child to independently build jigsaws or create lego structures enables children to enhance their problem - solving skills.
